About 23750 Price Creek Road
Quintessential early 1900’s farmhouse with period details and modern amenities has been lovingly cared for and is ready for the next family to carry on the heritage of this very special property. Both Price Creek and Price Creek Road are named after one of the early owners, the Price family.
The cheerful and welcoming covered front porch offers an inviting spot to relax in the swing or sip iced tea with family and friends as you enjoy Oregon’s gorgeous summers. Let the kids’ imaginations run wild as they explore the creek and play in the acres of trees and fenced pasture.
Open the original front door and make yourself at home. The spacious living room and dining room features hand crafted wood finishes including the ceiling made from uncut, solid wood planks that run the full length of the room and are highlighted with wood beams. Flanked by window seats that lift for extra storage the wood burning stove with its brick surround and fir mantle will keep you warm and cozy on chilly evenings.
The kitchen truly is the heart of this home and the central gathering spot that ‘feeds’ all parts of the house. Enjoy lots of counter space, a double sink with views through the garden window of the circular drive and pasture, and a quaint breakfast nook. Wake up to the aroma of fresh brewed coffee wafting up the stairs, or come in from the outdoors to the sweet scent of fresh baked cookies. Whether entertaining in the dining room and living room, entering the house through the mudroom, are settling in to watch your favorite show in the family room (grab the snacks from the pantry on your way), or are headed to bed after a day of work and play, the kitchen is the life blood of the farmhouse.
Upstairs the large bathroom accommodates 4 spacious bedrooms - 3 with finished attic alcoves that can be used for storage, play areas, or cozy nooks for sleeping. Opportunity on the main floor to create an impressive master suite by reconfiguring the large family room, second bathroom and butler’s pantry area.
Head outside and enjoy the soothing sounds of the creek and the sunny open spaces where you can grow a vegetable garden, harvest the fruit from the apple, cherry, and walnut trees, or design an English Garden. Stroll the walking path that encircles the trees and pole barn. The 48’ x 36’ pole barn has power and is large enough for storage and shop space. The fully fenced property and expansive gravel parking areas will accommodate many guests and provide easy maneuvering of campers, boats, and large equipment.
Located in Kings Valley the commute to Corvallis is an easy 30 minutes, and is in close proximity to the coast and northern towns of Monmouth and Independence. Local sights include nearby Fort Hoskins Historical Park, Beazell Memorial Forest and renowned wineries including Lumos, Cardwell Hill, Airlie, and Emerson, as well as the annual Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire.
The current owners have prepared a treasured photo book of the visual history of the home as a gift to the new owners. Special photos tell stories of: The red barn that is no longer present but the barn’s stoop marks its location near the rose garden; the old bunkhouse whose siding was repurposed on the 2-car garage; family photos from the 1920’s of the children on the front porch; a 2nd front door entrance that led to the schoolmarm’s quarters. Also, remaining with the home are a special votive candle holder that was made by a previous home owner out of the old black walnut tree that thrived for years near the kitchen window and garage entrance, and a 1978 hand-drawn map of the property. Share stories, live life and create memories. Welcome Home!
